đ Post 3 of 6 | Quick Wins Build Trust â And Trust Builds Momentum
This is part 3 of my 6-part series on executive transitions, drawn from my chapter in Coaching Perspectives X.
By now, youâve mapped your 90-day plan. But hereâs the next big test:
How do you show you're the right person for the job â fast?
The answer: Earn trust early by delivering meaningful quick wins.
đ The truth is, people start evaluating new executives on Day One.
Not to undermine them, but to know â can we rely on this person?
Will they move the business forward?
Quick wins matter not because they solve everything, but because they:
- Show progress is happening
- Boost morale and team confidence
- Give sponsors and clients a reason to lean in
- Create space for long-term impact
Hereâs what I coach executives to do in the first few weeks:
- Clarify what matters to each stakeholder (and it's not always the same).
- Embed visible milestones into project plans.
- Communicate progress clearly â and flag risks without drama.
- Say no to scope creep unless resources follow.
đŻ Executives arenât promoted to keep busy â theyâre trusted to deliver outcomes.
So deliver early, and deliver smart.
đ In my Coaching Perspectives X chapter, I explore how trust accelerates careers â and how quick wins are your fastest way there.
đ Whatâs one small early win that had a big impact on your leadership journey?
